The global health initiative

Is a global collaborative effort between the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital (NCH), the Larry De George (LDG) Foundation, and the Lorena Perozo-Rocha (LPR) Foundation in Colombia.

Founded in 2019 to impact pediatric cardiovascular outcomes in Colombia, we aim to create a comprehensive pediatric specialty care program for identifying and treating at-risk children with complex congenital cardiac conditions.

We aim to accelerate universal adoption of routine newborn cardiac screening protocols and to create innovative models that enhance access to pediatric cardiovascular care via multisite, state-of-the-art clinical and educational exchanges and partnerships.

We aim to accelerate universal adoption of routine newborn cardiac screening protocols and to create innovative models that enhance access to pediatric cardiovascular care via multisite, state-of-the-art clinical and educational exchanges and partnerships.

We want to improve the quality of life of Colombian newborns and infants through early detection of cardiac problems, aiding with diagnosis, treatment, and adaptation to daily life.

We develop healthcare partnerships with strategically located hospitals, maternity centers, and universities to implement and support the universal adoption of newborn screening for the early detection and treatment of CHD. Get to know more of our global impact.
